Abierto Networks Announces Completion of Fund Raising

ELIOT, MAINE, February 1, 2013 – Abierto Networks, LLC, a provider of Digital Marketing Solutions and High Speed Payment Technologies for the North American Convenience Store industry, today announced that it completed raising $505,000 of new financing. The funding round included company founders, a number of Maine angel investors, the Small Enterprise Growth Fund (SEGF) of Maine and the Maine Technology Institute (MTI). Terms of the financing have not been disclosed.
The proceeds from the investment will be used primarily to expand the sales and marketing organization with a particular emphasis on growing the Digital Marketing Platform (DMP) product suite that the Company has developed with the help of funding through a 2011 MTI Development Award. DMP is a purpose driven combination of digital signage, content creation tools, and an enterprise distribution/scheduling engine coupled with mobile marketing and couponing. These tools help the Convenience store retailer increase in store traffic and promote more profitable store and food service items. The solution also provides valuable marketing data which retailers can use to more optimize promotional spending and ultimately improve store profitability.

“This funding comes at a great time for our Company,” said Rick Sales, one on the founders of Abierto and its President. “Our high speed payment processing gateways are already in use at over 10,000 industry sites and the new DMP offering has completed a number of pilot trials and is now rolling out on chain-wide implementations. The support we have received from Maine, both through publically funded organizations and now from private investors, has made all this possible,” he continued.
