NACStech Workshop – “IP Enabling Your Store” – Features Two Abierto Clients

The Pantry’s Loren Allston and CHS Inc.’s Roger Tripp to speak at NACStech 2009

Exeter, NH May 5, 2009 – Abierto Networks announced today that major clients; The Pantry, Inc. and CHS Inc. (Cenex) will speak at the NACStech workshop – “IP Enabling Your Store” on Tuesday, May 19th. Abierto’s Rick Sales will moderate.

During the past 12 months, CHS Cenex and The Pantry have made significant but different strides to take advantage of the IP Technology at their stores, using the Abierto Gateway Dial-to-IP Converter Solution that Abierto Networks offers. Although both companies have over 1,500 branded sites, it is the differences between their operations that drives their requirements for IP functionality.

CHS Inc.’s Roger Tripp will speak on how CHS delivers value to its network of Independently-owned Franchisees by helping them to IP enable multiple payment applications, using the Abierto Gateway, in a POS-diverse environment while allowing for flexibility in how each retailer addresses their WAN/LAN requirements.

The Pantry, Inc.’s Loren Alston will speak on how The Pantry is deploying a Private Wide Area Network solution to each of its company owned stores, IP-enabling multiple standardized payment applications on the Abierto Gateway, while integrating significant operational systems such as back office, email, and procurement.

These two projects offer working examples of how business requirements, not network size, drive a retailer’s need for technology. This NACStech workshop will contrast the approaches taken by each company while discussing advantages and disadvantages as well as highlighting challenges faced and opportunities realized.
